Congratulations to Dr Liam Reed who successfully defended his PhD thesis with minor corrections. Liams' thesis was focussed on a xeno-free differentiation platform for the generation of respiratory cell types for developmental and disease modelling applications.

Congratulations to our very own Dr Ana Lilia Serna Valverde MD PhD who graduated during the recent University graduation ceremony for School of Medicine. The whole lab is extremely proud of you!

It was a pleasure to spend some time with out collaborator Professor Wahyu Widowati who visited us at University of Nottingham all the way from Universitas Kristen Maranatha in Indonesia. 

Hannan Lab celebrated the end of 2023 with a Christmas dinner at the wonderful Peggy's Skylight in Nottingham. Was wonderful to share the evening with lab members both past a present. 

Congratulations to Dr Ana Lilia Serna Valverde, MD, PhD who has passed her PhD VIVA. Ana's thesis explores the effect of respiratory infections on respiratory epithelial cells derived from patients with idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis.

Congratulations to Hannan Lab PhD student Rizal Rizal, who received a travel award to attend the ISSCR International Symposium in Sao Paulo, Brazil. 

Congratulations Dr Sara Cuevas Ocana who published her PhD research in IJMS MDPI. Her paper describes methods for editing hIPSCs with TALEN or CRISPR in 3 weeks with 10% efficiency!

Congratulations to Analy Serna who was invited for an oral presentation at the ERS Congress 2023 in Milan. 

The HannanLab returned from an amazing ISSCR meeting in Boston, USA. Congratulations to Rizal for presenting his research "generating immune cells" from hIPSCs" - it generated lots of interest and possible collaborations!
